Kenworth’s Renton Assembly Plant Receives King County Environmental Honor
The Kenworth Truck Company assembly plant in Renton, Wash., recently received a 2017 Gold Award from the King County (Wash.) Industrial Waste Program.

Part of King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division, the Industrial Waste Program annually honors local facilities whose business practices contribute to protecting regional water quality. Kenworth – Renton has now earned the Gold award for its exemplary wastewater discharges practices for four consecutive years, and 18 times in the past 19 years. The award standards focus on wastewater compliance, covering discharge, permit, ordinance, reporting, self-monitoring, and King County monitoring.

The 2017 Gold Award from the King County Industrial Waste Program recognizes their dedication to achieving our environmental goals.”
Kenworth’s plants in Renton, Washington, and Chillicothe, Ohio, both hold the prestigious ISO 14001:2015 certification for effective environmental management systems established to help build Class 8 trucks in an environmentally responsible manner. Kenworth’s medium duty products are produced at the PACCAR Ste. Therese, Quebec, manufacturing facility, which also holds ISO 14001:2015 status.
