Kenworth Honored as a 2022 Top Company for Women To Work For in Transportation by Women in Trucking
Kenworth was honored today as a 2022 “Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation” by the Women in Trucking Association (WIT). It marks the fifth consecutive year that Kenworth has received special recognition from the organization.
Nominated companies for the special recognition possess a corporate culture that supports gender diversity; provides flexibility in hours and work requirements; offers competitive compensation and quality benefits, includes training, continuing education and development; and fosters career advancement opportunities.
“Kenworth has made improving diversity and fostering inclusion a crucial business initiative working with Kenworth's Diversity and Inclusion Council and the PACCAR Women’s Association (PWA). Kenworth promotes an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives and unique thinking are encouraged to develop the best ideas and deliver the best products to market,” said Genevieve Bekkerus, Kenworth director of marketing, and a member of the PWA governance committee.
The Kenworth Diversity and Inclusion Council’s mission statement is: “Cultivate a high-trust workspace that empowers, encourages, and inspires people to be their authentic selves to create innovative and customized business solutions as unique as the communities we serve.”
“Kenworth is honored to earn a ‘Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation” award for the fifth consecutive year. It reflects the entire Kenworth team’s commitment to empower, encourage and inspire women that will create, manufacture, operate, and service the second century of Kenworth’s industry-leading products and services,” said Zach Slaton, Kenworth Diversity and Inclusion Council Chair and PACCAR Embedded Engineering assistant chief engineer.
Kenworth also fosters support for women through The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), a national engineering organization geared toward the development, advancement and support of women engineers. Kenworth SWE group brings the national SWE organization to Kenworth by networking at outside work events, community involvements through volunteering, and advancements through training and mentorship.
In addition to this Kenworth effort, the PACCAR Women’s Association helps provide education, resources and networking to prepare women for leadership opportunities within the company.
